Frequently asked questions
Happy Paws Cayman is available 365 days a year except for a short 14-day closure each year for our Employee Appreciation Time Off. This scheduled break allows our team to rest, reset, and continue providing the highest level of care.
We provide at least 6 months’ advance notice of our annual closure dates so clients can plan accordingly.
We can accommodate most requests, including short-notice bookings (1–2 days). Requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice are not always available, but we will always do our best to fit you into the schedule whenever possible.
Happy Paws Cayman is available to care for all types of pets and farm animals. Our team has extensive experience with dogs, cats, small animals, and a wide range of exotic pets.
We provide care for:
• All dog and cat breeds
• Rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small mammals
• Fish, birds, and farm animals
• Reptiles and other specialty pets (available upon request)
• Any animal that is legal to own within the Cayman Islands
All members of our pet sitting team are trained, experienced, and comfortable working with a variety of species, ensuring your pets receive safe, knowledgeable, and compassionate care.
All Happy Paws Cayman professional pet sitters are trained by our Company Owner, a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Pet First Aid Instructor. Under her guidance, our team is skilled in administering oral medications, insulin injections, and subcutaneous fluids. We can also assist with physical therapy exercises, nail trims, ear cleaning, and the application of eye drops or ointments.
Every sitter is trained to maintain detailed records for pets with medical needs and to closely monitor for any signs of illness or discomfort. All members of our team are Pet First Aid and CPR Certified, ensuring your pet receives attentive, knowledgeable, and compassionate care.
When choosing someone to care for your pets while you are at work or on vacation, it’s important to know what happens if that sitter becomes sick, injured, has an emergency, or takes time off.
At Happy Paws Cayman, you never have to worry. Our team of trained Professional Pet Sitters ensures that there is always reliable backup available. Having a strong team allows us to consistently accommodate service requests and prevent any interruptions in your pet’s care.
Our management team monitors the schedule daily to ensure all visits are completed. Pet sitters check in and out using GPS on their smartphones for each visit, and both management and clients can view completed visits through our system. Sitters also provide daily updates via text or email so you always know how your pets are doing.
All Happy Paws Cayman sitters become Pet CPR and First Aid Certified within their first three months of employment. Every sitter undergoes professional national background checks and motor vehicle checks, and receives hands-on training directly from the Company Owner, a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Pet First Aid Instructor.
Each client is assigned a primary sitter based on location and availability. Whenever possible, all services are scheduled with that primary sitter to maintain familiarity and consistency. If your primary sitter is unavailable due to illness, time off, or an unexpected emergency, a secondary sitter or management steps in immediately to ensure your pets never miss a visit.
You can rest easy knowing that Happy Paws Cayman has a strong, reliable backup plan in place - and we are always here for you.
